All clients who choose to travel with us have a duty of care to themselves and the people around them. We ask that all our travellers comply with local regulations and laws, as well as our own health and safety guidelines, to ensure that everyone can enjoy their adventure, while remaining well.

The safety and comfort of our guests has always been of paramount concern. However, there is no way to eliminate the possible risks while traveling and therefore we cannot assume liability nor in the possible non-admittance to the country you are traveling to or through nor in the unlikely event you contract COVID-19.

COVID-19 pandemic is a rapidly changing situation and that all travel precautions, travel restrictions, and pandemic protection policies are subject to change at any time and without notice. What Are the Consequences of Testing Positive While Traveling?

Pack as though you will become stranded. This could necessitate carrying two weeks’ worth of medication and a laptop if remote work is an option.

If you test positive you should stay in separate rooms if possible, and follow the local Health and Covid requirements regarding isolation and/or quarantine. You will have to assume each and all costs related to Covid.

Please note that you are responsible for all costs and expenses that may arise from the requirements of the authorities for any health-related issues. You are also responsible for the costs and expenses arising from the consequences of the need for quarantine and isolation, such as, but not limited to, hotels, extra rooms, meals, medical treatment, etc. (Please refer to the conditions of cancellation and insurance requirements).

The interruption of the trip on your part does not entail the reimbursement of the amounts paid (Please refer to the cancellation conditions and insurance requirements).

Policies regarding quarantine differ by destination. Some countries may ask visitors who test positive to undergo up to ten days of quarantine. The country in where you are staying may have its own quarantine and isolation regulations. The restrictions vary from nation to country, and may exceed US required isolation durations.

If you are fully immunized and in good health, you are unlikely to develop serious symptoms or need medical care. But you could.
(Please see your Insurance requirements)

In certain countries the only tangible consequence of a positive test is the inability to board a flight.

Many countries adhere to the recommendations of the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control, which state that vaccinated individuals who test positive should self-isolate.

If their symptoms improve, they feel better for at least 24 hours, and they test negative for the virus twice within 24 hours, they can discontinue isolating themselves.

Or, if they test negative once after six days, they can quit being isolated. People who have not been vaccinated are encouraged to self-isolate for 10 days, but they can exit isolation if they meet the same criteria as negative test results.

Some other destinations, particularly in Asia, may need at least 14 days of obligatory quarantine or isolation in a government facility or designated hotel.

What happens if there is a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19 on my trip?

If you have symptoms of COVID-19 while travelling with us we will help you to access your insurance care as quickly as possible.

Please note that, any expenses for testing, treatment or self-isolation will need to be covered by you and/or your travel insurer, so please ensure you have access to funds while travelling in case of this or other emergencies. Please check your insurance documents twice before leaving for the trip.

We will follow the advice of local health authorities on whether a COVID-19 test is required, whether there is a need to self-isolate or quarantine or whether there is a risk to other travellers in the group. We will help contact family and friends if needed as well as support with translation services at hospitals or medical centers and in contacting insurance companies, travel agents and airlines to make arrangements to return home if required.

Should COVID-19 be confirmed, our full health and safety protocols will be enacted, informing the group of the potential exposure, and sanitation protocols such as deep cleaning and disinfecting of accommodation and transport.

Am I required to inform government officials?

This will depend on the laws of the country you’re visiting, so be sure to consult the websites of local health ministries for further information.

In most countries, visitors are not obligated to disclose positive test results to the government. However, if you did your test in a local health facility, the results are generally reported to the regional or national health authority.

Hotels

We request sanitation requirements with each of our rooms (depending on the destination there are eventually small villages and or places in third world countries were a total implementation of a protocol is not realistic).

Vehicles

Restrictions on the number of passengers in each vehicle are in place, including regulations on how many people are allowed to ride in each car. Alcohol-based hand sanitizer are offered in the vehicles. When there is a group transfer or shuttle, masks will be worn. In common locations, such as inside vehicles, we clean and disinfect all high-touch surfaces daily, including car seats, door handles, and steering wheels.

Habitual cooperation

When traveling in small groups, you get the added benefits of the camaraderie enjoyed in group situations. But the journey is still made up of many various components, and this one will still be a significant one. Guests and guides will be asked to do wear masks when distancing is not possible, and we’ll minimize passing any material such as food, document. We shall search for extra space within the group and also outside the group.

Guides

Guides are either fully vaccinated or have a negative PCR test before the trip begins. We have introduced new health standards that our guides are educated under. In compliance with local guidelines, they will wear face covers as appropriate.

Preparation and handling of food

Alcohol-based hand sanitizer will be available at meals. On case of food distribution, our guides use either soap and water or an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.

What are your guidelines concerning COVID in the destination we are visiting?

We will share with you the information we have as each destination has their own vaccination, testing and health screening requirements for entry, exit and transit. It’s important that you check these on your government’s foreign travel advice website as these may include requiring evidence of recent COVID-19 test results or vaccination.

All clients who choose to travel with us have a duty of care to themselves and the people around them. We ask that all our travellers comply with local regulations and laws, as well as our own health and safety guidelines, to ensure that everyone can enjoy their adventure, while remaining well.

Yes. In case of a test your COVID-19 test is at your own expense.

Do I need to be vaccinated or take a COVID-19 test to fly with an airline or transit through an airport?

You are advised to check with the relevant airlines, airports and government authorities to check their entry, exit and transit requirements.

Which countries/destinations require proof of a negative COVID-19 test as a condition of entry?

Government regulations are constantly evolving – you are advised to check entry requirements with the relevant government agencies regarding entry, exit and transit requirements.

Who needs to provide a negative COVID-19 test?

All travellers with Nomad Photo Expeditions should comply with the requirements of the country or countries that are included in the itinerary.

When must I get a COVID-19 test?

You are advised to check entry requirements with the relevant government agencies regarding entry, exit and transit requirements.

Will my Tour Leader be vaccinated or tested?

All Nomad Photo Expeditions leaders must either have been vaccinated, or have tested negative to COVID-19 no more than 72 hours before they start a trip or as needed in order to comply with the requirements of the destination.

What are you doing to ensure trips operate safely?

We are committed to ensuring health and safety across all aspects of our trips, and all of our suppliers are required to commit to enhanced minimum COVID-19 standards.

In many cases itineraries have been adjusted to avoid crowded locations or peak times, and enhanced ventilation standards have been introduced for venues and transportation, where possible.
All leaders and crew have been thoroughly trained in COVID-19 safe protocols, including hygiene, sanitation, health screening and crisis management.

In addition, each destination has their own vaccination, testing and health screening requirements for entry, exit and transit. It’s important that you check these on your governments foreign travel advice website as these may include requiring evidence of recent COVID-19 test results.

Do I have to wear a mask on trips?

We will have to follow all government and local authority requirements around the use of masks. This depends on the location, mode of transport and other factors. Travellers are required to travel with their own masks and to wear one when required.

We recommend that all travellers, leaders and crew wear masks:

• To help reduce the spread of COVID-19
• As a normal part of interacting with other people
Masks are mandatory for travellers, leaders, crew and suppliers in any situation or destination when it is required by local government advice. In many countries, this includes (but is not limited to):
• Public and private transport
• Crowds or places where physical distancing is difficult
• Indoors (particularly in places with poor ventilation)

In countries with low or no community transmission, masks may not be required. We encourage travellers, leaders, crew and suppliers to wear masks if they feel safer doing so.
We advise you to contact your airline as well as check the foreign travel advice for your destination before travelling regarding wearing masks. You will need to bring your own supply from home to cover the duration of your travels. While our leaders carry masks as part of their first aid kits, we are unable to provide masks for daily use for travellers.

How will you manage physical distancing?

At all times on trip we comply with local regulations on physical distancing and permitted group sizes. As a general rule, Nomad will follow recommended guidelines of 1.5m/5ft apart from others. When necessary, we will make changes to itineraries to avoid crowds by visiting attractions or travelling outside of peak times. We understand that maintaining physical distancing at all times between group members when on a trip would be difficult and impractical.

Will I have to share a room with a stranger?

Our trips are based on twin share accommodation. Most of our trips have Single Supplements available for solo travellers who wish to have their own room. We are working with our accommodation providers to ensure that more rooms are available for those travellers who wish to room alone.

Do I need to bring my own hand sanitizer?

We are working with our local partners to provide hand sanitizer at accommodation, on transport and at restaurants. We recommend also bringing your own personal supply for times when it is not available, such as when exploring a destination independently.

Can I get a refund if I am unwell before my trip and unable to travel?

If you are unwell prior to travelling, please stay at home and contact us to make alternative arrangements. Please refer to our Cancelation Policy  for more details on our refund policy.

Can I get a refund if I leave the trip?
