I’m just waiting for my airport pick up. This trip to South Sudan with Roberto has been fantastic. Roberto is an excellent mentor and photographer. Portrait photography is not especially my thing, however I have almost been converted on this trip. Watching listening and being guided by Roberto has been a great learning experience. As a result I have some really nice portraits.

As you know, these trips are more than photography. Staying with the tribes in their villages and observing their daily activities as well as discussions with the elders or leaders has been very rewarding.

More than any other place I have visited I leave with a sense of wonder and uncertainty for the future of these ancient cultures and traditions. I suspect, unfortunately that many of them will disappear in the next decade.
